Our classes are taught by experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping you reach your goals and improve your skills. In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we focus on technique, leverage, and strategy to overcome opponents of any size or strength. Through our training, you will develop physical and mental strength, flexibility, and discipline.

To provide a judgement-free, energetic, and community based environment where people from all types of fitness backgrounds who are serious about improving their defensive skills, health and wellness can come together to work hard and encourage each other on their unique journeys to better lives. We also want to provide accurate and appropriate fitness and coaching of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from professionals who are extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields.

The Bears’ Den Brazilian Jiu Jitsu of South Lake
Tahoe will bring instructors with over 40 years of experience who are passionate about teaching jiu jitsu to all ages and skill levels. The location is close to the high school and at a major intersection in town with plenty of parking. The newly renovated space will provide a welcoming, rather than intimidating, atmosphere and will include a comfortable friend and family surrounding. The Bears’ Den is an S-Corporation, incorporated in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

A one-on-one session in BJJ typically involves a student working closely with an instructor or training partner to develop their skills and improve their technique. The instructor may introduce more advanced techniques or tailor the training to address specific areas where the student may be struggling. If the student is having trouble defending against a particular submission, the instructor may focus on that specific technique and work on developing strategies for countering it.

At Bears Den we believe in community and bringing people together. That is why we have open gym on saturdays to not only enhance your skill but to also connect with other members in a more informal way. Open gym is available to all members of The Bears Den
